Introduction
Camp Kadesh is owned and operated by Mid-Prairie Scripture Mission and is located on the northwest shore of Christopher Lake, Saskatchewan. This multi-purpose facility is used to run a Christian camping program during the summer, school camping programs during the spring, fall and winter, and for hosting rental groups in the fall and winter.
Organization
The Head Cook is accountable to the CEO.
Qualifications
- Enjoy people of all ages, especially youth and children, and work well with them
- Camp cooking experience
- Experience cooking for large groups
- Ability to work with volunteers
- Leadership abilities
- Safe food handling course
- Organization and delegating skills
- A heart for evangelism and missions
Responsibilities
1. General duties including kitchen cleaning
2. Order all food including solicitation of donations
3. Prepare weekly menu
4. Organize volunteer cooks and delegate duties
5. Cook meals and serve them on schedule
6. Keep accurate records of purchases to stay within budget
7. Inventory control of kitchen equipment
8. Lead devotions with volunteer cooks
Work Week
The work week will vary from season to season depending on the types and number of groups.
- Summer (July/August) will be Sunday 2pm to Friday 2pm.
- Spring (May/June) will be Monday-Friday.
- September to October and January to March will vary according to when we have groups .
- November and December there will be no work at the current time.
This schedule is subject to change depending on need.
Remuneration
Base Salary is $100/day. Pay may be negotiated with CEO based on experience.
Room and board provided by the camp.
