Crowsnest Lake Bible Camp (Crow) has begun the search for a new Director of Camping.  We are excited for the process that God will lead us through in finding the right person for this position.

If you are not familiar with Crow, it is, as our mission statement describes, an autonomous, evangelical, faith ministry dedicated to bringing glory to God by responding to the needs of the whole person according to the Biblical principles of evangelism and discipleship.  Through offering programs in a natural, wilderness environment, we aim to provide campers a challenge in all aspects of growth such as spiritual, physical, social, intellectual/mental, and emotional. The operation and direction of this ministry is made possible through a loyal community of supporters, full- and part-time staff.  Currently there is a small staff team which facilitates and supervises the operation of camp programs and activities throughout the year under the leadership of the Director of Camping.

The qualifications we seek are broad and are a reflection of the leadership and communication skills and character qualities we hope to find in our future Director of Camping.  With this in mind, the Director will have the following knowledge, values and abilities:

    Knowledge and Core Values

    • Possess a broad educational background with a minimum of a post secondary diploma or equivalent experience
    • Possess a practical working knowledge of Scripture
    • Be a visionary, able to lead collaboratively, think strategically, and be able to communicate the organization’s vision effectively and contagiously
    • Demonstrate a record of mentoring and discipleship
    • Be supportive of the local church
    • Be a motivated  individual with a willingness to continue to learn
    • Demonstrate ability to build and lead a team and to oversee a community of individuals with diverse skills and personalities

    Leadership and Administrative Ability

    • Demonstrate ability to develop and implement a budget together with the Board of Directors, recognizing the importance of fiscal responsibility
    • Have a history of leadership and staff supervision
    • Effectively communicate and liaise between Board of Directors and staff
    • Possess the ability to recruit, inspire and direct staff and volunteers
    • Exercise initiative, excellent judgment, and efficient time management by setting priorities and implementing plans effectively
    • Maintain effective internal and external communications to promote the mission and vision of camp
    • Manage relationships with regulatory bodies in order to comply with appropriate standards
    • Promote the safety and welfare of all people involved in camp programs

If you have a vision for working with young people to help them become leaders and desire to serve God, we encourage you request an application package from Heather Cowan. Please submit your application prior to October 15, 2011.  Ideally, we would like to fill this position as close to this date as possible; however, if a suitable candidate has not been found, we will extend this deadline.
